Purpose/Duties
To encourage and apply philanthropic contributions to help improve the human condition, embrace diversity, promote a humane and democratic society and enhance the community's quality of life, now and for future generations. Overseeing more than 120 charitable trusts, the Board serves as distribution trustees for Leonard and Beryl H. Buck Trust.

Qualifications
A Trustee should have a reputation in the Marin community as a person of intelligence, integrity, skill, experience, and good judgment in community matters. It is indispensable for Trustees to have a caring and compassionate view of the community. A background of work or professional involvement or volunteer activities in any of the areas central to the Foundation's activities is useful experience. All Trustees, except Buck Family members, must have been a Marin County resident for at least five continuous years preceding their appointment to the Board of Trustees.
Term Length
4 years; a maximum of two consecutive terms.

Nine members - two appointed by Marin County Board of Supervisors

None
Time and Day of Meetings
Board meetings once a month, plus committee and community responsibilities.
