Purpose/Duties

Serves as a planning and policy advisory body to the Board of Supervisors, County Administrator, and/or Human Resources Director on all phases of the county's personnel program, including the Merit System. The commission may investigate any aspect of personnel administration in the county service and make recommendations for improving the quality of such administration.

Qualifications

No specific qualifications are necessary; however, it is the intent of the Board of Supervisors that, insofar as possible, at least two members of the commission shall be current practitioners in personnel work or labor relations and that the membership also include persons experienced in corporate executive management. ** NOTE **: This commission was formed to comply with county ordinance

Five At-Large members, with Alternates appointed as deemed necessary.

Reimbursements For Expenses/Per Diem

$100 per diem per meeting is authorized. Commissioners are entitled to reimbursement of expenses necessitated by their official duties.

Beginning October 1, 2022, a stipend will be available for members of boards and commissions who self-certify to household income below the County self-sufficiency standard. For more information or to apply to the stipend program, see the Board Stipends Program Webpage.

Time and Day of Meetings
