Purpose/Duties
The District maintains a small but highly trained unit responsible for the prevention, elimination or control of mosquitoes and other arthropods known to be potential carriers of infectious diseases, or presenting a public nuisance. The Board of Trustees is responsible for hiring an administrator to organize and carry out an effective control program, and to develop a budget adequate to staff and support the program.

Qualifications
One member to represent the unincorporated territory within the Vector Control District other than the western region annexed in 2005, and one member to represent the unincorporated territory of the western region annexed in 2005 (West Marin).
Term Length
2 years initially, then 2 or 4 years thereafter
Number of Members
Two members appointed by the Marin County Board of Supervisors to represent the Marin County unincorporated portions of the district (see qualifications).
Reimbursements For Expenses/Per Diem
In lieu of itemized expenses, an allowance of $100 per month per member will be paid for expenses incurred in attending regular meetings, not to exceed $100 per month.
Time and Day of Meetings
Regular meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the District Headquarters, 595 Helman Lane, Cotati or at specified location.
