Purpose/Duties
A nonprofit organization which helps to permanently preserve Marin County’s farmland for agricultural use. MALT eliminates the development potential on farmland through the acquisition of conservation easements in voluntary transactions with landowners. MALT also encourages public policies which support and enhance agriculture and promotes public awareness of the importance of agriculture and the need to preserve it.

Qualifications
Under the MALT bylaws, the Board of Supervisors appoints two of the members of its fifteen member Board of Directors. Qualifications include commitment to the goals and program of MALT; ability to work in concern with other members of the Board and the staff; experience or knowledge in one or more of the following areas: agriculture, land conservation, fundraising, public relations and community relations, finance, law.

Board meetings are held monthly on the fourth Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Farm Bureau Building, 520 Mesa Road, Point Reyes Station.
