Local Appointments List

Appointive boards, committees and commissions provide opportunities for citizens to participate in and act on matters of public concern. Serving an advisory role, commissions depend upon the citizens to suggest policy on issues and to recommend program priorities to elected policymakers and local governments. There is an ongoing need for Marin residents to apply for positions on boards and commissions.

Below is a link to the Marin County Board of Supervisors "Local Appointments List" (LAL), a list of all boards, commissions, and committees whose members serve at the pleasure of the Board of Supervisors, and the necessary qualifications for each position.

The LAL includes a list of all appointive terms and the terms of expiration, the name of the incumbent appointee, along with their date of appointment, the date their term expires, and the necessary qualifications for the position. The LAL is a basic tool for citizen involvement in the local government process.

Please be advised that the Local Appointments List is an active report, with changes made throughout the year as vacancies come before the Board of Supervisors.
