The Marin County Assessor-Recorder-County Clerk’s Assessor Use Codes are designed to aid in the appraisal of property for assessment purposes only. Use code information associated with individual parcels may not reflect the property’s legal use.

Property characteristics information maintained by the Assessor, including the Assessor’s use code designation, reflects information related to production of the assessment roll as provided by State law. The data has been prepared solely for this purpose. Extreme caution is urged in using this data for any other purpose. This data is provided under the provisions of Revenue and Taxation Code Section 408.3. And, pursuant to 408.3(d) , “the Legislature finds and declares that information concerning property characteristics is maintained solely for assessment purposes and is not continuously updated by the assessor. Therefore, neither the county nor the assessor shall incur any liability for errors, omissions, or approximations with respect to property characteristics information provided by the assessor to any party pursuant to this section. Further, this subdivision shall not be construed to imply liability on the part of the county or the assessor for errors, omissions, or other defects in any other information or records provided by the assessor pursuant to the provisions of this part.”

Search By Assessor Parcel Number

This form allows searches of the data related to the property appraisal functions of the Assessor's Department. Searches can be performed by entering a parcel number (found on a Property Tax bill). All search results are limited to 100 records.

Search By Assessor Map Book
- Your Parcel Number is an 8 digit number.
- It can be found on your property tax bill in the upper left hand corner in the box labeled Parcel Number.
- Make sure all pop-up blockers are turned off (Yahoo and Google toolbars).

Search Assessor Records By Parcel Number

Enter a parcel number (ex: 999-999-99); a minimum of 5 digits is required.

In accordance with laws to protect privacy of elected and appointed officials, we do not allow searches by address or name on our public website (California Public Records Act, Government Code Section 6254.21). However, owner information is available in person at our office or by phone at (415) 473-7215 .

Search Assessor Maps By Map Book and Page

Enter the first 3 digits of a parcel number into the Map Book field. You may optionally add the next 2 digits into the Map Page field. Entry of only the Map Book will display the map book index; entry of both fields is required to view a single map book page.

Example: if parcel number = 099-123-45, then the map book = 099, the map page = 12.
